Do you know TKNIK ?
Obviously yes if you’re a regular Tsugi or Trax reader. The young 18 year old producer (from Clermont) has indeed appeared recently on both samplers of these two french mags (Noose, in Tsugi n°10 july/august ‘08 and Acid Guns, in Trax special august ‘08)!
Also playlisted by Busy P., who selected him for the « French touch 3,0 » of Trax, the young Bastien (his firstname) , influenced mainly by Oizo & Justice, controls the distortion & cut arts without abusing of them. It’s heavy stuff, but produced with a lot of care! Even if the guy is still searching for his proper style, only an idiot wouldn’t see his potential which is gradually showing itself…
And good news, he just announced the release date for his new EP -Factory 51- which will contain nearly a dozen exclusive tracks: « I’ve had fun creating a storyboard, so a serie of video clips should be coming out soon… » says Bastien in the French Touch Forum.We’ll be seing you in december/january for his new album, and to see if he proves our judgement to be right.
